Carbon Cartridge Filter Systems (GFCC Carbon Treatment Systems)

We offer carbon cartridge filter systems that are engineered to remove organic contaminants, chlorine, taste, odor, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from water and process streams. WARCO’s GFCC Carbon Treatment Systems utilize high-performance granular activated carbon cartridges housed in durable thermoplastic vessels to deliver reliable, low-maintenance filtration for industrial and commercial applications.

Designed for efficiency and flexibility, these systems provide consistent adsorption performance while allowing easy cartridge replacement and scalable system configurations.

WARCO Series GFCC glass-free polypropylene carbon treatment systems utilize a rechargeable granular carbon canister with an integral absolute rated, long-life pleated polishing filter to prevent the by-passing of carbon particles. GFCC granular canisters replace complex, high maintenance horizontal disc systems that involve constant change-outs of carbon and media, relining overhauls, disc replacements, and high labor costs. CHEMAG GFCC granular systems provide the necessary carbon treatment for organic removal in a simplified corrosion proof design.

How Carbon Cartridge Filter Systems Work

Carbon cartridge filter systems operate through adsorption, a process where contaminants adhere to the surface of activated carbon media. As water or fluid passes through the carbon cartridge, organic compounds, chlorine, and odor-causing substances are removed before discharge.

GFCC systems are engineered to:

  • Maximize carbon contact time
  • Maintain consistent flow rates
  • Minimize pressure drop
  • Support simple cartridge change-out

This design makes carbon cartridge filtration an ideal solution where space, performance consistency, and maintenance accessibility are critical.

Chamber Design Features

  • Rugged SOLID polypropylene systems resist internal or external corrosion containing no glass fillers, pigments or metallic stabilizers, PVC glue or bead welding
  • Fusion welding provides an integral design with uniform thickness for extreme process conditions
  • Complete systems w/ heavy duty polypropylene mag-drive pumps
  • Absolute Beta 5000 ratings from 0.5 to 10 micron @ 99.98% efficiency prevents carbon by-passing

Performance Range

  • Capacities up to 6,000 GPH
  • Granular Carbon Capacity: up to 3.0 cubic feet (per vessel)
